Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sdn Bhd (BSM) held a prize presentation and closing ceremony for “BSM Disrupt” today, 24 November 2020 at the PGGMB Building. Guest of honor and also in his capacity as member of BSM Board of Directors was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II.

A total of 32 submissions were received and 8 groups were selected to enter the final round of the hackathon based on their potential to disrupt and offer new products and services to BSM’S customer ecosystem.

Three teams pitched the most feasible business ideas, demonstrating application to innovation, proven business model, and a working prototype.

The 1st place winner goes to FoodVille with BND 5,000 prize money. FoodVille’s proposal is about maintaining the largest database of fresh & local food products in Brunei. The 2nd place place winner ,Koloni who won BND 3,000 prize money proposed a hybrid platform that utilizes Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to turn fuel stations into community hubs and the 3rd place winner Kaimana, a dedicated zero waste store in Brunei, won BND 1,000 prize money. Apart from the prizes, the winners will also get an opportunity to collaborate and partner with BSM to further develop their business ideas.
