Brunei Shell Marketing Co. Sdn. Bhd. (BSM)
hosted a ‘Majlis Berbuka Puasa’ or breaking of fast event with orphans at
Serambi Bati Hall, Tarindak d’Seni on 13 March 2025. The event was part of
BSM’s Ramadhan Social Investment initiatives. Ramadhan is a month that
encourages self-reflection, compassion, and generosity—values that align
closely with BSM’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment to
fostering strong relationships with the community. In line with Islamic
teachings that emphasise caring for orphans and those in need, BSM remains
dedicated to supporting initiatives that promote unity, kindness, and social
well-being.
The event began with a recital of Surah
Al-Fatihah by BSM Retail Executive, Norasman Suleiman. This was followed by the
presentation of donations, contributed by BSM staff and handed over by BSM
Managing Director, Captain Mohammed Alexirwan bin Haji Omar, to 100 orphans
registered under the Community Development Department (JAPEM).
Prior to the breaking of fast, Yang Mulia Hj
Mohd Loqman Al Hakim bin Hj Hamdan from Al-Huffaz Management, delivered a talk titled
“Menyemai Kasih, Menuai Berkat”. The talk emphasised the importance of
compassion and giving, highlighting how small acts of kindness can create
lasting impact. It also underscored the blessings (barakah) that come from
supporting those in need, in line with Islamic values and corporate social
responsibility.
BSM hopes that the donations will provide
meaningful support to the recipients with their families and bring them joy
during the holy month. By sharing a meal and engaging in meaningful
conversations, BSM aspires to create cherished moments that reflect the spirit
of Ramadhan and the values of kindness and generosity.
Through Social Investment programmes such as
this, BSM remains committed to working closely with its stakeholders in
contributing to community development and moving forward together with the
nation.
