In celebration of 65 years of service and dedication to the nation, Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sendirian Berhad (BSM) proudly launched its first-ever coffee table book titled ‘Moving Forward with You’ at a ceremony held at the Brunei Energy Hub Dermaga Di Raja on Monday, 21st October 2024. Acting BSM Managing Director, Haji Mohd Hairul Radzi bin Haji Shahri, in his opening remarks highlighted that the book provided an insight and reflection of the six and a half decades of service, resilience, and the vital contributions of BSM’s customers, partners, and employees. He emphasised that their support was essential to reaching this milestone, and BSM’s success is founded on teamwork, trust, and a shared vision for growth and sustainability.
The coffee table book serves as a visual tribute to BSM’s 65-year legacy, celebrating its achievements while narrating the company’s remarkable journey in shaping the energy landscape of Brunei across land, sea, and air. It chronicles BSM’s history from its founding in 1959, highlighting the establishment of retail stations and the nationwide supply of Shell Fuels, Shell Lubricants, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Saraline and Bitumen. The book also outlines BSM’s vision moving forward; focusing on innovation and sustainability, including the introduction of Brunei’s first retail rapid charging station at IBA Retail Station in Lambak Kanan and diversification towards Non-Fuel Retail (NFR) offerings such as Shell Car Care and convenience retailing services such as Shell Café and Shell Select.
Also in attendance were Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad Syahmi bin Halimshah, Acting Deputy Principal of the Brunei History Centre, and Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Haireni binti Haji Awang Damit, Acting Director of the Language and Literature Bureau, along with BSM’s business partners, management, and staff. Attendees were given exclusive insights into the stories and photographs that make ‘Moving Forward with You’ a timeless addition to any library.
The coffee table book is now available for viewing at the Language and Literature Bureau and the Brunei History Centre, serving as a lasting testament to BSM’s unwavering commitment to serving the nation.
