Shell Safety Day 2021
BSM successfully rolled out Shell Safety Day engagements virtually yesterday with BSM Staff and its contractors.
One of the objectives this year is to continue to adopt the learners’ mindset which includes creating psychological safety and bringing human performance to life in the transition to the 10 refreshed Life-Saving Rules (LSR) for BSM that is introduced this year.
In his opening keynote, the Managing Director of BSM, Muhammad Norshafiee DP Hj Abd Jalil, has praised BSM’s overall safety performance having achieved 6.5 million man hours without Lost Time Injury. Where the LSR continues to be part of the behavior and culture within the industry, he reminded all to continue to be curious to new ideas and viewpoints for improvements along the way.
The session followed with open conversations in virtual breakout sessions where staff and contractors shared where their application of the LSR can be in their respective workplace environment.
The LSR are essential not just in the workplace but also in our everyday life. Lets continue to look out for each other and ensure Goal Zero.

BSM COVID-19 Relief Fund handed over
Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sdn Bhd (BSM) has been in close touch with the Brunei Shell Joint Venture Companies (BSJV) and the Ministry of Health on how BSM can support to address this second wave of COVID-19.
Earlier this afternoon, BSM donated 26 units of water heater to Pusat Tingkatan Enam Belait Isolation Centre located in Mumong, which would allow the frontliners as well as close to 300 patients to maintain their hygiene with warm clean water. (Thank you to the Public Works Department under the Ministry of Development for the advise.)
In addition to this, BSM has donated two sets of laptops to the Brunei Youth Council whom has been actively supporting the COVID-19 relief efforts, including providing the volunteering platform website, sukarelawanbelia.com to assist with recruiting and managing volunteers.
We are also incredibly proud of the care and solidarity shown by our BSM Team in our united front as a nation to flatten the curve. BSM as well as its management and staff have pooled care packages for the COVID-19 patients at the National Service Programme (PKBN) training camp in Temburong District. The care package included 150 pieces of toilet rolls, 150 sets of dry food items, 150 sets of slippers and 13 units of microwave ovens.
Let’s continue to adhere to the Ministry of Health’s guidelines. Stay at home, maintain your hygiene and wear your masks if you absolutely need to be out.
